Toujours Taxi ("we", "us", "our") is a taxi service operating in Beirut, Lebanon, with offices at Building 145, Second Shop, Ghophrayel Street, Beirut, Lebanon.
We operate the website toujourstaxi.com and the online booking platform accessible through it. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller of the personal data you provide to us.

2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide our taxi service. This includes:
Data you provide directly:
- Full name — to identify you and address you in communications
- WhatsApp phone number — to confirm your booking and send driver details
- Pickup address — to dispatch a driver to your location
- Destination address — to calculate your fare and route
- Ride date and time — for scheduled bookings
- Special instructions — any notes you choose to provide (optional)
Data collected automatically:
- IP address — collected by our server logs for security purposes
- Browser type and device — collected to ensure the website functions correctly
We do not collect payment card details. We do not collect location data from customers. We do not collect any special category data (health, religion, ethnicity, etc.).
3. How We Use Your Data
- To fulfil your booking — dispatching a driver, calculating your fare, and managing your ride
- To communicate with you — sending booking confirmations, driver details, and ETA via WhatsApp
- To operate and improve our service — reviewing ride history to improve dispatch efficiency
- To comply with legal obligations — maintaining records as required by Lebanese law
We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
- Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) — processing your name, phone number, and addresses is necessary to fulfil the ride booking contract
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — server logs and security data are processed based on our legitimate interest in keeping our systems secure
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) — where we are required by law to retain certain records
5. Who We Share Data With
- Assigned drivers — your name, phone number, pickup and destination are shared with the driver assigned to your ride
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when we send you a confirmation message, your phone number is processed by WhatsApp's platform
- Hosting provider — our website runs on a VPS server whose provider may access data in the course of providing hosting services
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to any third party.
6. Data Retention
We retain your booking data for a maximum of 12 months from the date of your ride, after which it is deleted from our systems.
Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data
- Right to restriction — ask us to restrict how we process your data
- Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based

8. Data Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted connection)
- Our booking system is protected by operator login authentication
- Access to the database is restricted to authorised personnel only
- Our server is hosted on a secured VPS with firewall protection
9. Cookies
Our website currently uses no tracking or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics platform. If we introduce cookies in the future, we will update this policy and display a cookie consent banner.
